Jamie specializes in facilitation, training and working with groups. Immediately prior to coming to the academy, she worked at San Francisco Women Against Rape for eight years, serving first as Director of Recruitment and Training and then Director of Teen Education. She holds a Bachelor's degree from University of California at Santa Cruz and received her MSW from San Francisco State University. Jamie is also a survivor of the foster care system.

Laura performs many of the administrative duties for this collaboration, including project development and planning, program implementation, travel arrangements, and data management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University and worked for the Bay Area Academy, the parent organization of the Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project, for over three years before joining the HCTAYC staff. When she’s not working (or traveling to Humboldt), Laura enjoys getting to know the East Bay, reading, making playlists and spending time with her friends and family.

Rochelle Trochtenberg

Rochelle grew up in the foster care system in Los Angeles County and was emancipated on her 18th birthday. While in foster care she mostly resided in group homes for youth that were considered to be severely emotionally disturbed. Rochelle earned a Bachelors in Social Work from Humboldt State University, where she was the President of the HSU Social Work Student Association as well as the Founder and Chair of the HSU Former Foster Youth Club. She was an intern at Child Welfare Services before becoming the lead youth organizer of the Humboldt County Transition Age Youth Collaboration.
